What I do

  • Visual & Interaction Design

    Visual and interaction design are complements. Visual challenges are conceived and designed by considering aesthetics, usefulness, effectiveness, learnability and attitude. Visualists analyze and prioritize business needs, perform competitor analysis and employ appropriate user feedback methods to effectivley solve problems.

  • Product Design & Creative Management

    Product design necessitates relationships with disparate business, editorial, corporate, mobile, technology and creative teams while fostering a collaborative environment that is detail-oriented and focused on pride of work. Planning is key, but the process must respond to changing needs by being adaptive from the onset.

  • User Experience

    User-centered design (UCD) is an iterative design process that puts users first by focusing on usability goals, characteristics, environment, tasks and workflow. User and stakeholder input are essential throughout a project lifecycle as creative works towards simplicity of design and interaction by assessing design decisions.

  • Social Photography

    Photography appeals to both aesthetic and environmental inputs and is a natural extension of visual design. A graphic designer's eye reveals composition and implied movement within an inherently still image, imbuing balance, storytelling, depth and intrigue to the most vibrant city in the world.


How I do it


Pre-planning is critical for "big picture" adaptability. User and stakeholder input is captured by utilizing usability testing, focus groups and interview techniques.

Design & Build

Consistency meets user expectations by providing predicatable interactive environments with a rhythm and flow that users grow accustomed to.


Insights for improvements or alterations are based on statistics and analytics monitored over time, including Google Analytics, reports and customer feedback.


Concrete evidence is gathered of the project's status and usability throughout its life and ongoing incremental changes are made to address feedback and behavior.

I am an experienced creative manager, visual & interaction designer and U/X professional. I've worked for major media companies including Associated Press, Hearst Corporation and News Corp on such products as AP Images, AP Archive, AP Video Hub, AP Mobile News, Hearst-Argyle Television, Cosmopolitan, Harper's Bazaar, Avon Books, King Features, ESPN Zone, Esquire and TV Guide. As an entrepreneur, I served top commercial clients, nonprofits and federal agencies such as NBA Store, Sony Electronics, ConsumerSearch, International Myeloma Foundation, National Cancer Institute, Center for Scientific Review and Smithsonian Institution.

In my current position as Director of Product Design at Associated Press, I am responsible for the productization of high-profile interactive news and information products and services for global newspaper, magazine, broadcast, interactive TV, mobile, tablet, desktop, online and emerging markets.

I hold a BFA in Graphic Design from New York's renowned Pratt Institute.
